Red onion oil works because of organic sulphur compounds that the body uses to build keratin. The catch is that hair grows about a centimetre a month, so a single application is mostly a placebo. A routine is what changes the picture.
The pattern that holds up best: warm the oil for 10 seconds, massage the scalp for five minutes (the massage matters as much as the oil), leave it on for an hour or overnight, wash with a mild sulphate-free shampoo, and repeat twice a week for at least four weeks before you decide.
If you're losing hair seasonally, layering in a multivitamin like DAILY-LS for four to eight weeks usually shows up as less shedding by week six.
